47th MRASA Toy Run - December 2025

At the Toy Run Committee Meeting on Monday 29th Sept 2025, the decision was made to cancel the MRASA Toy Run for 2025. As reported earlier this was to be our final Toy Run.

The decision came about because the South Australian Motor Sport Board (SAMSB) was unable to grant us permission to use the Victoria Park venue to hold the event on December 14th and no other venue would cater for our need - to park 2,500 bikes for the ride on that date, our usual timing of the second Sunday in December.

We were given a date of 21st Dec to hold the Toy Run by SAMSB and City of Adelaide Council. Having contacted all our vendors/site holders, we found we would have less than 20% attendance rate with only 1 food vendor.

Contact with other of our usual supporters indicated that December 21st, four days from Christmas, was not a good time to source volunteers and other assistance needed to make for a successful event.

After serious considerations the Toy Run Committee decided to cancel the event. Committee members, MRASA members, riders who attended and donated, and all our other supporters, can all, look back on 46 years, of successfully helping many South Australian families to make Christmas a joyful time for their children.

It is the end of an era which we found very hard to let go, but it is not the end of the giving. Let the generosity continue.

We have several suggestions to make Christmas special for the thousands of children in South Australia.

You can organise a ride with your friends and donate to a charity that has a Christmas appeal. There are many.

Finally, if someone wishes to step up to the plate and take on the responsibility of the Toy Run, they will have our support. By this, I mean another organisation or a whole new group from within the MRASA.

Our aim. To raise positive awareness of motorcycling and collect gifts for disadvantaged children.

It's more than a ride, it's for the kids.
